GitHub Actions makes it easier than ever to incorporate continuous delivery (CD) into your repositories. This course will teach you what is needed to test and deliver artifacts that are ready for deployment.

After taking this course, you'll be able to:

  • Describe CD and why it is necessary
  • Use and customize a repository workflow
  • Create CD workflows that matches the team's needs and behaviors
  • Use the repository's source code to build artifacts and store them in the GitHub Packages
  • Save repository build artifacts
  • Access saved build artifacts

This course has a dedicated message board on the GitHub Community website. If you want to discuss this course with GitHub Trainers or other participants create a post over there. The message board can also be used to troubleshoot any issue you encounter while taking this course.

Steps to complete this course 4
  1. Move the workflow file

    Place the CI workflow file in the proper directory.

  2. Edit the workflow file

    Build the Docker workflow and 'secrets' configuration.

  3. Trigger the pipeline

    Make a commit and watch the pipeline work through GitHub Actions.

  4. Viewing the Workflow

    Verify if the Docker workflow was successful or not.
